Dr. Vaughan is the Irving S. Cutter Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University and the Founding Director of the Potocsnak Longevity Institute, a multidisciplinary institute looking to expand human healthspan. He is the former Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, the former Physician in Chief of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and the former Chief of Cardiology at Vanderbilt University. His lab has been at the forefront of basic and preclinical investigations that have helped define the molecular physiology of PAI-1 and its role in arteriosclerosis, metabolism, senescence, and aging.
